Job Description
Reporting to the Visual Arts Educator, the Visual Arts Camp Instructor works closely with the
Visual Arts Educator to ensure the successful delivery of the Centre’s visual arts camp programs. Visual Arts Camps play a vital role in introducing campers to a variety of art mediums, instructors are responsible for delivering safe, fun, and educational experiences for our campers. Instructors lead Visual Arts Camps for children ages 5-12 from March 25 to 28, 2024.

Schedule:
March 25 to 28, 2024: 8:30am – 4:30pm
Duties of the Visual Arts Camp Instructor will include, but are not limited to:
- Supervising campers while in the care of Confederation Centre of the Arts
- Delivering fun and engaging lessons in various mediums of Visual Arts including, but not limited to: painting, sculpture, collage, arts and crafts
- Teaching numerous classes to camp participants
- Coordinate and collaborate with other instructors
- Ensuring any Covid-19 protocols are upheld by campers
- On-going communications with parents, students, fellow teachers, and administrators
- Assist with program preparation and wind-up
- Studio organization
- other duties as required
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; English essential
- Positive attitude, patient, empathetic
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and prioritize efficiently
- Previous experience working with or supervising children
- Experience in various Visual Arts mediums
- Must be confident in instructing Visual Arts classes
- Must have, or be willing to get a vulnerable sector check
The following qualifications would be considered an asset:
- Bilingualism (French/English), and/or other languages (Mandarin)
- Experience in multiple areas of Visual Arts
- Post-secondary training in Visual Arts/Fine Arts
- CPR
