Overview
Saputo Dairy Products Canada GP, a leading North American manufacturer of dairy and grocery products, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Lead for our Dartmouth Fluid Milk Plant. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, The Maintenance Lead provides lead support and is an integral member of the maintenance team with direct responsibility for boiler related duties as well as maintaining monitoring and repairing production equipment to mitigate production downtime..

Overview
Saputo Dairy Products Canada GP, a leading North American manufacturer of dairy and grocery products, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Lead for our Dartmouth Fluid Milk Plant. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, The Maintenance Lead provides lead support and is an integral member of the maintenance team with direct responsibility for boiler related duties as well as maintaining monitoring and repairing production equipment to mitigate production downtime..
How you will make contributions that matter:
- Coordinate with management team to assign, lead, review and monitor work to maximize productivity and prevent downtime on an assigned shift.
- Ensures team members are following safety standards to prevent injuries, examples include, PPE, lockout/tagout, machining safety, electrical hazard prevention, safe lifting, fall prevention and performing maintenance pre-planning activities to apply all safety procedures prior to performing maintenance activities.
- Perform equipment repair, installation and change-over support. Inspect equipment and auxiliary equipment to ensure repairs and service is complete in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Coordinate with Maintenance Manager to maximize periods of downtime for equipment PM’s and repairs to maximize productivity.
- Complete all assigned PM’s, work orders and Food Safety documentation to include accounting for all tools and equipment prior to releasing the equipment back to service, tool and cart cleaning and housekeeping requirements.
- Support Continuous Improvement activities.
- Support employee training (i.e. new hire, transfers, technical training, OJT, safety, etc.), complete training documents, tracking and monitor/report training progression.
- Perform root-cause analysis, recommends improvements to production methods, equipment maintenance and performance and quality of product.
- Analyzes, trouble-shoot and resolves work problems and assists team members in solving work problems.
- Collaborates with team to coordinate activities between departments.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply the Saputo values.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Must possess a Class 4 Power Engineering Certificate
- Three to five years in an industrial maintenance capacity, preferably in dairy/food manufacturing.
- Industrial ammonia refrigeration, high pressure boiler and utility experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based ERP applications, SAP preferred.
- Ability to trouble-shoot electrical, hydraulic systems and pneumatic equipment.
- Strong electrical background in addition to mechanical skills. Experience with computerized or automated controls and ability to read electric schematics a plus.
- Self-motivated detail–oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills, in English.
- Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead, influence, motivate, develop, engage and train others.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends in support of plant operations.
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
- Demonstrates professionalism and positively represents and promotes Saputo at all times.
