Set in the heart of town, on the water, Tofino Resort + Marina is a base camp for all things adventure. We serve the authentic Tofino experience, from the famous fishing of Clayoquot to our relaxing Remote Floating Sauna and Dock- and we want you to join us! The successful candidate will maintain property operations while upholding resort appearance and ensuring company goals and targets are met. This position is full-time, year-round. Job Description: Skilled and knowledgeable in maintenance operations such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and general repairs. Supervise maintenance technicians. Is the main point of contact for maintenance items when the Manager is off. Continuously provide strong customer service to guests and to all departments with the ability to prioritize workload. Maintain maintenance department to the highest standard of organization & cleanliness. Always follow safety procedures while performing duties. Including safely operating vehicles, tools, machinery and complying with all WCB and WHMIS standards of compliance. Oversee and maintain the cleanliness of the exterior resort property. Inspect and maintain recreational equipment (Adventure Centre and Tuff Fit Gym) to ensure proper safety standards are met, completing any minor repairs as needed. Working with the department manager to develop and maintain a risk registry, including maintenance and servicing schedule of all plants and equipment on property. Arranging with contractors when required to service such equipment. Working with the department manager to develop and implement schedules and procedures for safety inspections and preventive maintenance programs. Oversee contractors as required. Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
