NURSING CONSULTANTDEPARTMENT OF HEALTHCONTRACT OR SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY (2 Years)FREDERICTONThe Department of Health is seeking an individual to join the Health Workforce Planning Branch as a Health Workforce Nursing Consultant.As The Nursing Consultant You WillAssist and support in the day-to-day management of nursing projects related to current and future nursing initiatives as well as to health workforce strategies under the Provincial Health Plan (PHP). Provide nursing expertise and leadership while working in a multidisciplinary environment to various teams within the Department of Health and with our Health Partners. Provide nursing subject matter expertise to support the development and implementation of key initiatives under the New Brunswick Provincial Health Care Plan.Lead and manage the Nurse Practitioner Shadow Billing Working Group and ensure the preparation on related documents and memos.Prepare reports and documents with respect to nursing vacancies.Work collaboratively with the Principal Nursing Advisor, and various internal and external stakeholder groups, to monitor and revise existing programs and initiatives with respect to nursing recruitment and retention.Review current and develop new policies, along with standard operating procedures, that will be required to support nursing initiatives, such as the Nursing Innovation Initiative.Other related duties as determined by need.Who You AreYou shine when you are able to affect change by proactively contributing fresh ideas and innovative solutions.You have proven client relationship management skills at all levels of an organization.You see opportunities where others see challenges.You have exceptional writing skills and are adept at producing concise, clear, and well organized documents, including policies and procedures, instruction manuals and training guides.You thrive when working on multiple projects and are recognized for delivering outstanding work within tight deadlines. Essential QualificationsA Master's degree in Nursing with five (5) years of related experience in the health care system, including experience in project management and leading project teams; ORA Bachelor's degree in Nursing with six (6) years of related experience in the health care system, including experience in project management and leading project teams. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
