The postdoctoral fellow will be under the supervision of Dr. Tina C. Montreuil. The position will offer a unique postdoctoral training experience in perinatal mental health and the successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research on perinatal mental health, the caregiving environment and child development outcomes. The fellow will carry out research aimed at improving access to care and offering optimal evidence-based care for treating mood, anxiety and related disorders in pregnancy and postpartum period in Canada. The fellow would be given opportunities to produce first-author and co-author publications using existing data collected by the longitudinal prospective cohort, the Montreal Antenatal Well-Being Study. They will also present at national and international conferences and collaborate on grant applications.The Montreal Antenatal Well-Being Study (MAWS) is one of Quebec’s largest longitudinal perinatal mental health cohorts (N=1130). Data is collected from early pregnancy into early childhood. Partners of maternal participants have also been recruited and data collection is ongoing for maternal-partner-child trios (currently at 36 months postpartum).For more information on MAWS, please visit: https://www.antenatalwellbeingmtl.com/en-homeResearch Tasks and EnvironmentResponsibilitiesThe postdoctoral research fellow will collaborate with a team of perinatal mental health experts and will work closely with and assist Dr. Montreuil, the MAWS Project Manager/Research Coordinator, Ms. Cindy Henault Robert, and their study team members. They will carry out research and program administrative tasks such as systematic reviews, publication preparation, epidemiological tasks, as well as with engagement with diverse stakeholders (e.g., clinicians, people with lived experience). Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for:Understanding the data collected;Managing diverse and heterogeneous databases;Conducting regression analyses, ANOVA, time series type analyses, or longitudinal analyses;Writing articles and reports;Participating in meetings with researchers and students.The position will be supervised by Dr. Montreuil, Scientist at RI-MUHC, Departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at McGill University. Dr. Montreuil is a leading expert in mood and anxiety disorders and has carried out studies worldwide on maternal mental illness around the time of pregnancy. They are remunerated in the form of grants, not salaries.For this reason, RI-MUHC postdoc fellows are not eligible for employment insurance benefits, parental insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits reserved for employees. Tax deductions will be taken at the source.RI-MUHC has a remuneration policy for postdoctoral interns, which is a minimum of $40,000 per year.
