The Opportunity

The Coordinator will ensure that all children and after-school programs provide quality care, service and support to the participants and their families. The Coordinator will provide assistance to the After School Manager in the set-up and day-to-day operational activities including the management and supervision of a staff team. The Coordinator will provide support in the leadership and stability in the development and direct delivery of program


Responsibilities

  • Expertise in ensuring compliance with standards and creating child-centred programs that make a positive impact.
  • Crucial role in overseeing staff, managing day-to-day operations, and addressing any challenges that may arise.
  • Strong organizational skills in handling administrative duties, registration, and effective communication with parents.
  • Flexibility in navigating daily changes in operations, always putting children's well-being first.
  • Building strong, meaningful relationships with children and their families is key to better understanding their unique needs.
  • Providing leadership through direct staff supervision, recruitment, and performance management.

Qualifications

  • ECE Certificate or equivalent training
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in Child Care, After School or Youth program.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing working hours and locations.
  • Strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Belief in the power of teamwork, sharing and receiving feedback.
  • Experience in recruitment, hiring, performance management, and staff training (valuable asset).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows.
  • Employment is contingent on having a clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, along with a Social Development Check with no convictions.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain it.
  • Applicants must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to commute to both job locations.
