Project Information Specialist [Construction Association of Nova Scotia (CANS)]

The Construction Association of Nova Scotia (CANS) is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Project Information Specialist.

The position of Project Information Specialist is responsible for maintaining the sourcing, presentation, and accuracy of construction project information on the member information system, which is one of the most important services CANS provides to our members. Working on the Project Information team, the position is a point of contact in responding to project and general information inquiries and providing support in the provision of project information services.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Commissioner of Oaths status through the Province of Nova Scotia. CANS will assist the successful candidate in obtaining this status, but a clean criminal record will be necessary to hold this designation.

CANS is an industry trade association representing the interests of contractors, suppliers, and service providers throughout Atlantic Canada and across the country. We represent 800 large and small companies that build, renovate, and restore non-residential buildings, roads, bridges, and other engineering projects.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Collect construction project tender information through various public and private information sources.
- Input specific construction project data to the CANSNet system (CANS member portal and project information hub) in a timely manner.
- Follow and update project information records including tender bid results, awards, and project news from various sources, online and otherwise.
- Respond to general organizational and project information inquiries from members and the general public by email, telephone or in person in the office reception area.
- Act as a Commissioner of Oaths for membership on specific construction documents.
- Process and fulfill construction document and printing orders.
- Other assigned duties and special assignments.
- A clean criminal record check is mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and attention to accurate data entry.
- Strong computer skills; competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to effectively understand and interpret potentially complex written materials.
- Highly developed organizational and time?management skills.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to life-long learning and professional development.
- Degree, certificate or diploma in Office Administration or other business-related studies.
- Experience in data-entry or document management role would be considered an asset.
- Experience in clerical and/or customer support role would be considered an asset.
- Industrial, commercial, institutional construction industry experience would be considered an asset.
- Experience at a non-profit or membership driven organization would be considered an asset.
