Job brief

We are looking for a Restaurant Servers to take orders and deliver them to our guests while maintaining and enhancing the quality of our customer service. You will work in close collaboration with all staff and follow established food, health, and safety standards. The goal is to provide customers with a memorable experience as an enhancement to the Kingsbrae Garden experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order

Attend to customers upon entrance

Present restaurant menus and have the ability to recommend customers select food/beverages

Take/serve orders and answer questions an upsell the menu with appropriate enhancements

Collaborate with other restaurant staff

Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude and solving issues during service

Issue bills and accept payment

Promote repeat guests

Opening and closing duties for the restaurant

Maintain complete knowledge of scheduled daily activities in the garden, hours of operation, and general garden knowledge

Answer restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently

Speak to guests?Ϋͺ and co-workers using clear, appropriate and professional language

Anticipate guests' service needs, including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences and acting on them whenever possible

Engage guests in conversation regarding their visit to the gardens and the town of St. Andrews

Move and arrange tables, chairs, and settings and organize seating for groups with special needs with minimal amount of disturbance to other guests

Notify management of maintenance repair issues

Performs all other job-related duties as request

Requirements

Previous restaurant serving experience

Customer-oriented approach and positive attitude

Problem solving and decision making skills

Hands on experience in cashier duties

Excellent people skills

Responsible and trustworthy

Attention to cleanliness and safety

High school diploma; food safety training will be considered a plus;

Must be of legal age to serve alcohol

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 5 months

Salary: $14.75 per hour

Experience:

  • serving: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Smart Serve, SIR or equivalent (preferred)

Work Location: In person
